Who I Am My family moved to Wilton from Long Island in 1970, when I was barely a year old. My Father was a commodities trader, and my mother was a homemaker who also spent countless hours working with the Garden Club and the Republican Town Committee to make Wilton a better place. My interest in town issues and public service comes from her. I can remember as a kid stuffing countless envelopes with her and walking petitions for this issue or that from door to door. My keen interest in preserving open spaces and protecting the environment comes from my father, who is still an avid outdoor sportsman. Having attended Wilton Public Schools from kindergarten to my graduation from Wilton High School in 1987, I consider myself very fortunate. As a teacher who has taught in both Wilton and Bridgeport, I know how lucky Wilton kids are! After graduating from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, with a B.A. in Political Science, I moved to New York City to pursue a career as an actor. In New York, I attended the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and studied with Sanford Meisner, an original member of Stanislavski’s Group Theatre. I also appeared in small roles on Broadway, in soap operas, and in commercials, as well as independent films and countless plays throughout the City. While acting is a lot of fun, making a living at it is a whole different story! As I grew tired of supporting myself through landscaping, painting, and boat cleaning jobs, I decided to go back to school to be a teacher. I received my Masters in Education from Sacred Heart University, and I am a certified Social Studies teacher. I spent two and half years teaching in Bridgeport at Park City Magnet middle school and Central High School before coming to the Wilton school system this past year. Having just been married in April, my wife Debra and I are looking forward to making Wilton our home for years to come. My involvement in politics and town government resurfaced when I came back to Wilton from the City. Beyond my involvement as a member and the Chair of The Wilton Democratic Town Committee, I have served for two years on Wilton’s Water Pollution Control Authority Board, and this past year as a Selectmen’s Appointee to the Wilton Library Association Board. I am very much looking forward to serving you and The Town of Wilton on the Board of Selectmen! |
